In the span of 48 hours, researchers caught Meta's Muse building hourly dossiers on everyone you know, OpenAI admitted its agent-hack cleanup is burning half a million dollars a day, and Google shut a bug bounty door because AI-written junk reports clogged it. Agents are shipping faster than anyone can check their work. Grab a coffee, because this weekend's reading is mostly about cleanup crews.

Today's Takeaway:

Joshi pulled Muse's operating instructions using nothing but the regular chat window, and found an hourly job profiling your partner, coworkers and friends (Muselegalpr). A year ago, an assistant answered questions and forgot you. Then Muse arrived with memory, a checkout button and a cut of each sale (Meta). The trial is that your friends never agreed to any of it.

That means Meta holds a social graph built by consent you gave on other people's behalf. Which means a shopping agent that knows your coffee-loving friend's birthday is the most persuasive salesperson Meta has ever employed, and it takes a fee. Our view: the approval card protects your wallet and does nothing for the people in your dossier. For you, every agent you connect to messages is now a contact-list decision.

🔧 Tool Spotlight

What it does: Most image generators butcher text in images - Ideogram nails it. Generate posters, flyers, business cards, book covers, or social graphics with crisp, accurate typography.

Who it's for: Marketers, small business owners, designers, anyone making visual content with words on it.

Try this first: Go to ideogram.ai, type "a vintage poster that says GRAND OPENING in bold serif, sunset gradient," and generate. The text will actually look correct.

Free or paid: Free tier gives 10 prompts/day. Paid plans start at $8/mo for unlimited prompts and commercial rights.

The Bottom Line

The Pattern: Agents now generate their own cleanup crews: OpenAI's forensic review, Google's shuttered bounty inbox, an Oklahoma judge reining in Flock. Checking AI's work has become a standing cost that lands on whoever sits downstream, from bug-bounty staff to courts.

Our Call: Meta will add a user-facing control to view or delete Muse's per-person relationship pages by December 15, 2026. More likely than not. We'll grade this one in a Friday digest.

Your Move: Five minutes this weekend: open Muse, ask it "show me the page you keep on [a family member's name]," and screenshot what comes back. If it surprises you, disconnect your messages before you connect a payment card.
